From 8 to 10 September 2026, CeRiToM – Research Centre on Theory of Mind at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore participated in the XXXVIII National Congress of the Italian Association of Psychology (AIP) – Developmental and Educational Psychology Section, held in Pisa.

During the congress, several members of the Centre presented contributions focusing on social cognition, Theory of Mind, and interactions between children, humans, and social technologies.

Andrea Luna Tacci presented the contribution entitled “The Production and Moral Evaluation of White Lies in Children: A Comparison Between Humans and Robots”, as part of the symposium “Understanding Others in Human–Technology Interactions: Theory of Mind, Moral Judgment, and Socio-Cognitive Competence”, proposed by Cinzia Di Dio and Antonella Marchetti.

In the same symposium, Margherita Magnini presented the contribution “Children’s Trust in Robots: The Role of Social and Epistemic Characteristics”.

The scientific programme of the congress also included contributions from other CeRiToM members.

Laura Miraglia participated in the symposium “Social Robotics for Psychological Intervention Across the Lifespan”, proposed by Davide Massaro and Federico Manzi, with the contribution “Assistive Social Robotics and Parkinson’s Disease: Effectiveness of a Cognitive and Socio-Cognitive Training with the Pepper Robot”.

Annalisa Valle also took part in the congress as a proposer of the symposium “The Development of Literacy as a Civic Competence: Processes, Contexts, and Educational Interventions”. Within the symposium, Annalisa Valle was also the author of two contributions: “Financial Thinking for Reflective Citizenship: Promoting Financial Literacy in Primary School” and “Financial Education for Future Teachers: An Experimental Evaluation”.

Participation in the congress represented an important opportunity for scientific exchange and dissemination of CeRiToM’s research activities, within an interdisciplinary context bringing together developmental psychology, social cognition, education, and social robotics.
